The Namibian Police announced today that there are no new developments in the rape and murder case of 5-year-old Ingrid Maasdorp from Okahandja.
Last week, NamPol spokesperson Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi confirmed that an investigation is ongoing following the discovery of Maasdorp's body, which was initially reported as a missing person case.
Shikwambi explained that the nature of the investigation changed after a post-mortem examination was conducted. “An investigation into serious criminal offenses, including murder and defeating the course of justice, was launched and remains ongoing. We are pursuing persons of interest,” she stated.
Ingrid Maasdorp was raped and strangled before her body was found in a pool of water beneath a bridge.
