Prime Minister Elijah Ngurare called on opposition leaders to collectively focus on advancing service delivery during their tenure in the 8th Parliament regardless of political affiliation.
He said this during his maiden address in the National Assembly on Thursday.
A long-time member and supporter of the Swapo Party, Dr Elijah Ngurare rose through the ranks of the Youth League.
He first served as the Secretary for Information, Publicity and Mobilisation from 2002, before becoming Secretary-General in 2007.
Dr. Ngurare previously served as an academic at UNAM and later as a director in the Ministry of Agriculture.
In his first address to the National Assembly, Ngurare urged all parties to support the new administration to address pertinent issues.
He urged that oppositional criticism should create solutions.
Supporting the 2025/26 national budget and passionate about youth affairs, Dr. Ngurare urged the 8th Parliament to work together towards finding underlying issues within the health and education sectors, which he said directly proportionately affects the youth population.
