
President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has appointed Emilia Mkusa as Secretary to Cabinet, taking over from Dr. George Simataa.
Her appointment is effective from the 1st of May.
Mkusa currently serves as Advisor to the President for Political Affairs , following her redeployment from Ethiopia last year, where she served as Ambassador to that country and Permanent Representative to the African Union.
Prior to ambassadorial appointments, Mkusa served as Secretary to the National Council until 2017, having risen through the ranks at the legislative body.
She cements her career through her three decades of experience in human resources management, financial governance, diplomatic relations, and parliamentary procedures.
President Nandi-Ndaitwah expressed confidence in the ability of Ambassador Mkusa and wished her well in the execution of her duties.
