The Governor of the Kavango West Region, Verna Sinimbo, accompanied by various regional leaders, paid the Kasera family in Sarukwe village a visit following the death of two children due to suspected food poisoning.

Sinimbo expressed heartfelt condolences and reiterated the need for collective vigilance in matters of food safety. 

She emphasised the importance of unity between the community and government in preventing such incidents and pledged government support for the affected family and the broader community.

The governor also visited the Rundu State Hospital, where she assessed the condition of Andreas Kasera and his son, Andreas Chilemo, who remain in critical care. She assured the family of continued monitoring and support from relevant authorities.
