The Namibian Police have said that another suspect is yet to be arrested, believed to be linked to the January 18 NAMDIA robbery.

The suspect is a security officer at NAMDIA.

NamPol Deputy Inspector General Elias Mutota informed nbc News that the suspect is employed at NAMDIA and that police will execute his arrest.

Mutota explained that the suspect is related to two of the three suspects who were arrested at Keetmanshoop.

He said that the arrests followed after police tracked the movement of funds and the drastic and unprecedented upgrade in the lifestyles of the suspects.

The suspects, according to Mutota, bought several luxury vehicles and properties.

The suspect, who is believed to have participated in the robbery in which diamonds worth millions were stolen, was part of NAMDIA’s security personnel who received a N$1.4 million payout after it was found that they were being subjected to alleged slave-like working conditions.

nbc News is aware of the identity of the suspect but may not publish the name until he appears in court.
