Two male learners arrested for allegedly raping a 9-year old girl

Police in the Omusati Region have arrested two male learners, aged 15 and 10, while another is on the run for allegedly raping a 9-year-old girl at Omaandi village in Oshikuku constituency.

It is alleged that three suspects, one of whom is still on the run, had sexual intercourse with the victim, who sustained serious injuries to her private parts and is now receiving medical attention at Oshikuku Catholic Hospital.

Both suspects are expected to appear in the Outapi Magistrate's Court today.

Police investigations in the matter continue.

Eight suspects arrested at Rundu after Grade 2 teacher was robbed

Eight suspects were arrested at Rundu after a Grade 2 teacher was robbed by two men while she was teaching at the Rudolf Ngondo Primary School on Thursday.

It is alleged that the teacher withdrew an amount of N$14,000 from a local bank, meant for the regional sports event before she headed to school.

It is alleged that the suspects followed her to school.

The suspects allegedly gained entry to the school premises by jumping the fence and started looking for the teacher from one class to the next until they found her.

The public warned against buying and selling of suspected stolen goods

The public is warned not to buy or sell suspected stolen goods.

This comes after the Windhoek City Police arrested a syndicate that is buying stolen gadgets destined for a neighboring country known to the police.

Four foreign nationals were arrested after being found in possession of suspected stolen items.

The items include four iPhones, a desktop computer, and 26 laptops.

The City Police, through its intelligently led operations, followed a suspicious vehicle, leading to a house search, during which all electronics were confiscated.

Two police officers arrested for allegedly accepting a bribe

Two police officers have been arrested for allegedly accepting a bribe of N$10 000. 

It is alleged that the two officers were part of the operation deployed on the B1 weighbridge mini-roadblock.

The members stopped a vehicle and confiscated contraband items including Yes cigarettes and Whiskey.

The suspected police officers allegedly demanded money from the victim in order not to be arrested and the return the contraband goods.

The value of confiscated items is estimated at a value of N$250 000.
