The Minister of International Relations and Trade has said claims that the genocide negotiations are not being inclusive of all the affected communities are not factual.
Selma Ashipala-Musavyi was responding to members of parliament who called on the ministry to ensure that discussions around the genocide negotiation are inclusive of all affected communities.
"The issue of genocide is very important, and I was involved with it from the beginning, and honestly, for us to say that the members of the affected communities are not involved is not factual. These people were given to the ministry by the chief from the seven regions. And if there is anything else to be done regarding the matter, I leave it to the Prime Minister. I think we have come a long way, and I really want to commend the members of the affected communities for their negotiations, and as the President said, let's not allow this issue to divide us, but let's bring it to a closure going forward."
Some MPs proposed including the affected diaspora communities, while others proposed holding a national conference on genocide negotiation.
