The Erongo Regional Council is taking steps to sharpen its focus and improve services. This comes as the Council held a Strategic Plan Review and Performance Alignment Workshop to reassess its goals and align efforts for better delivery across the region in the coming years.

Bringing together senior leadership, heads of departments, and key stakeholders from across the region, the workshop sets out to review the Council's extended Strategic Plan, which spans from the 2017/18 to 2021/22 period.

The session's primary focus was on evaluating performance outcomes, identifying service delivery gaps, and ensuring that the Council's strategic direction for 2025/26 is aligned with the region's socio-economic development priorities.

The four-day workshop served as a platform for departments to align their annual work plans with regional priorities, ensuring budget coherence and performance-based planning across all levels of governance.

This effort reflects Namibia's broader public sector reform agenda and reinforces the principles of the Decentralisation Enabling Act.

In a context where resources are limited, public expectations are growing, and effective coordination is more vital than ever.

Aligning performance agreements, budget priorities, and departmental outputs have also become key to delivering meaningful results.

Strengthened collaboration between internal units and delegated functions remains critical, not only for improving efficiency but also for fulfilling the Council's mandate to bring services closer to the people.

The workshop comes at a crucial time as Namibia faces mounting fiscal constraints and growing demand for improved service delivery.

The Council officials say that now more than ever, regions must adopt an evidence-driven, results-orientated mindset.

The workshop underscores the Council's renewed commitment to fostering a high-performance culture through collaborative planning, integrated monitoring systems, and continuous capacity building.

Through shared vision and collective accountability, the Erongo Region is charting a path toward a more inclusive and responsive public sector.
