The Bukalo Village Council has acquired two vehicles to help improve its operations.

The new additions are expected to ease the transport challenges the council has been facing for years, making it easier to carry out day-to-day duties.

The brand-new vehicles, a Toyota sedan and single cab, are valued at 1 million dollars

The chief executive officer for Bukalo village council, Anna Sazita, said that the new vehicles, are a solution that will help improve efficiency in service delivery and increase productivity, while also cutting costs from previously rented vehicles.

"we struggled for some time now whereby it was a challenge for us to deliver, we were affected negatively but today it's a great day whereby we have received a Toyota sedan that will be used for day to day activities as well as for travelling, because in the past we used to make use of hired vehicles whenever there is an activity, which was a bit risky and also costly for council."

While transport issues have been addressed, Sazita further stated that the council still faces challenges with operational machinery.

"we still have a challenge with some of the machinery like the grader that we can use to clear the roads, as well as to clean our dumpsite, as well as the hydro lust."

The chairperson of the village council, Simataa Mubonda assured residents that the vehicles will be used for their intended purpose, while also encouraging them to report any misuse of council property.

" So this is an opportunity now we have been answered by the government that we are able now to accommodate this council, so we should look after them and also inform our community that they are also, there should be eye witnesses to make sure that these cars they are not abused, to ensure that these cars they are put at a very properly safe environment, to ensure that these cars produce the results they were bought for."
