Swapo Party Member Natangue Ithete has assured the residents of Grootfontein of improved development and service delivery, given the mandate through the by-election on 17th June.
The party fielded Nelao Amagulu as its candidate in the Grootfontein by-election.
Ithete gave the assurance at the Swapo Party mini rally in Grootfontein.
Amagulu is a former councillor of the Grootfontein Constituency as well as a former member of the National Council.
"We know that development must reach every corner, and that includes Grootfontein. That is why we need comrade Nelao, a daughter of Her Excellency Netumbo Nandi Ndaitwah and comrade mother Sofia Shaningwa. A new voice with a clear vision, a leader with high energy, youthfulness and wisdom of experience. Her campaign is focused on three pillars. These are critical for national and local development and transparency, where public resources are managed openly and fairly. Accountability, where leaders answer to the people and serve with integrity, is another pillar of her campaign, as well as youth empowerment, where young people are given tools, training, and trust to build the future."
Ithete called on residents to turn up in numbers on election day and vote for the party.
Swapo Party Otjozondjupa Treasurer Nestor Shikongo said Amagulu is a capable leader.
Also speaking at the rally was Nestor Shikongo, Swapo Party Treasurer for the Otjozondjupa Region.
"Nelao Amagulu is a daughter of the soil, a servant of the soil and a thorough embodiment of Swapo party values. She has worked with the community and knows the community better, and understands what Grootfontein needs. Her leadership is genuine; her campaign was built on tangible service delivery to community members. As the youth league, we proudly stand with comrade Nelao because we believe in her vision. a vision that speaks to the empowerment of young people, the upliftment of women and the creation of opportunities in education, agriculture and local economic development."
