The Oshakati Town Council has presented its budget for the 2025/2026 financial year, totaling N$350,144,407. This budget is balanced, with neither a deficit nor a surplus.
This year's budget prioritizes key areas aligned with the council's long-term strategic goals, including economic development, infrastructure enhancement, social services improvement, and environmental sustainability.
For the current financial year, N$7.1 million is allocated for the construction of bulk services at Ompumbu, while N$4 million is designated for installing water, sewer, and electricity services in the Uukwangula township.
An additional N$7.5 million is set aside for constructing new roads in Oshakati North (Extension 12), aimed at improving mobility and access to erven.
Road upgrades are also a priority in the budget, with N$8 million earmarked for upgrading roads near Distil, Build It, and Africa Meat Supply to bitumen standard.
To enhance transportation, N$700,000 is budgeted for constructing a taxi rank near Game Stores, specifically for Endola-Okatana taxis. Furthermore, N$7 million is allocated for road and stormwater upgrades throughout the town.
