Namibia's Ambassador to Angola, Patrick Nandago, has described the U.S.-Africa Business Summit as both a learning experience and a platform for the country to showcase its investment and business opportunities.

The summit will bring together over 1,500 public and private sector leaders.

Namibia is solidifying its position as an energy hub by participating in the U.S.-Africa Business Summit, where it will host an investment session focused on, among others, oil and gas.

Nandago said this summit will serve as a platform to attract investors to Namibia's newly discovered oil and gas industry and to discuss key structures essential for the sector's development.

"To learn from others, to inform others of the opportunities also available in our country, whether it's investment opportunities or what you're able to offer to the world. As we discovered oil and gas, we need people to invest in that sector; we need to put up infrastructure relevant to that particular industry. So we want to expand our market for whatever we are producing in Namibia. Whether it's in terms of health infrastructure, education opportunities are never enough because things are evolving, and new technologies and innovations are coming up, so this is a platform where all of these other things are to be discussed."

Expressing Namibia's readiness to engage on the global stage, Ambassador Nandago highlighted the strong business opportunities between Namibia and Angola, given that Angola is one of the wealthiest nations in Sub-Saharan Africa and one of the continent's fastest-growing economies.

"First, in terms of economic resources, Angola also has a large population of over 30 million people, which provides buying power for whatever they are producing and whatever is being imported into Angola."

Nandago highlighted the commitments between the two countries, emphasising their evolving bilateral ties and deep historical connections.

He pointed out that the two countries share a long history of cooperation in areas such as security, with many of these ties tracing back to their joint efforts during the liberation struggle.
