The United Democratic Front (UDF) is striving to win four constituencies of the Erongo Region in the upcoming Regional Councils and Local Authorities Elections in November.

Vice President Nico Somaeb said many women are interested in standing as candidates, and they will battle it out in the party primaries.

So far, the chairperson of the management committee of the Henties Bay municipality, Michael Skini, has been chosen to stand as the UDF representative for the Arandis constituency, while Karibib Mayor Davey Van Wyk is the candidate for the Karibib constituency.

UDF has one seat on the regional council, while the Independent Patriots for Change and Swapo Party have three seats each.

The UDF leadership in Erongo held a strategic planning meeting at Arandis.
