The City of Windhoek is in the process of re-engineering its processes to make it easier for people to obtain duplication and business fitness certificates to make it more efficient and user-friendly.

This comes after the residents complained that the current process is lengthy and tedious.

Lisa Figaji, Head of Business Development at the City of Windhoek, acknowledged that there are challenges. "We are working on those challenges together with our IT department. They are instrumental in doing it together with us, and I can comfortably say to you within this financial year, we will definitely see a re-engineered business process that I am very proud to say will make it leaner, meaner, and faster and provide services efficiently and more effectively."

Figaji was speaking at the Business Summit Namibia held recently, where institutions gathered to foster strategic partnerships and craft collaborative solutions for economic upliftment.

The Intellectual Property Enforcement Manager at BIPA, Joseph Onesmus, informed those in attendance on how it has become easier for business registration, which does not only streamline access to support services but also enhances credibility.

Onesmus reminded them of the importance of business registration.

"If we withhold and remain informal, we then withhold a number of potential benefits that are associated with the registrations of businesses, and I really wish to implore you who are not yet registered."

Vendors who attended the Summit were appreciative of the opportunity.
