The newly certified People United for Change (PUC) party has condemned alleged tribal attacks and growing tensions in Otjinene.
The party called for unity and respect among all Namibians.
Party President Ernestus Axakhoeb said during a press briefing that the PUC does not condone alleged tribalism in any form and expressed concern about what he described as "divisive rhetoric and actions" currently unfolding in the region.
Axakhoeb made it clear that the PUC was born out of the struggles of the Hai//om people but is not exclusive to them.
He said the party seeks to uplift all marginalised communities, including those in the Zambezi Region and beyond.
The party also emphasised its commitment to fighting corruption, with Axakhoeb highlighting that the party constitution includes clear provisions for transparency and accountability.
PUC National Secretary Stanley Claasen reiterated that the party is guided by core values of fairness, inclusivity, and justice, which will shape its policies and internal practices.
As Namibia approaches its next election cycle, the PUC says it positions itself as a new voice for the voiceless, rooted in community struggles but aiming for national impact.
