The City of Windhoek donated safety gear to 150 cyclists and pedestrians, marking the conclusion of the city’s Zero Emissions Week 2025 campaign.

The donation aims to reaffirm the city’s commitment to residents' safety by distributing helmets and reflector jackets to commuter cyclists and pedestrians.

Public Relations Officer Lydia Amutenya further explained that the donated items will improve cyclists’ visibility on the roads and reduce accidents.

The campaign featured various events promoting sustainable mobility, clean energy, and environmentally friendly behaviour.

Activities included electric vehicle exhibitions and environmental video awareness competitions focused on emissions, and concluded today with the cycling gear giveaway.

The safety gear donation marks the end of the City of Windhoek’s Zero Emissions Week campaign, which ran from the 15th to today, the 22nd of September.
