Namibia and Botswana are set to review progress across multiple areas of cooperation, including diplomatic, legal, economic, social, and defence and security matters.

The review will take place during the second session of the Botswana-Namibia Bi-National Commission (BNC), to be co-chaired by Presidents Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah and Duma Boko in Windhoek next week.

The Presidency, in a statement, said that the BNC would further provide a platform to explore new areas of collaboration and exchange views on regional and multilateral issues of mutual interest.

It said several bilateral agreements and Memoranda of Understanding are expected to be considered and signed during the session.

The two countries elevated the Joint Commission on Cooperation and the Joint Permanent Commission on Security and Defence to the BNC level in 2021, with the inaugural session held the following year.
