The Southern African Development Community (SADC) has called for a strong and coordinated implementation of the integration agenda within the region.

International Relations and Trade Minister Selma Ashipala-Musavyi has called on Chinese businesses to deepen trade ties by investing in value addition to Namibia’s natural resources. 

She made the remarks during a roundtable and networking engagement in Shenzhen, China. 

The Minister of International Relations and Trade, Selma Ashipala-Musavyi, is set to strengthen bilateral cooperation with China during her visit there.

Ashipala-Musavyi is on a working visit from 11 to 18 April 2026.

Southern African Development Community (SADC) members should emulate Namibia and Botswana in allowing free movement of people in the region.

Namibia and Russia are seeking to expand trade, investment and cooperation.

Officials from the two countries met in Windhoek for the 11th session of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between Namibia and Russia.

Namibia and Russia have emphasised the need to strengthen economic and trade ties amid growing bilateral trade and cooperation.

This was revealed during the opening of the Namibia-Russia Business Forum in the capital today. 

Namibia and Congo are strengthening their longstanding diplomatic ties and deepening economic cooperation.

Namibia and Singapore are looking to deepen their economic ties, with both countries set to explore new areas of cooperation while strengthening existing trade relations.

Chinese Ambassador to Namibia Zhao Weiping said that Chinese investments would never threaten Namibia's sovereignty or create dependency.

He said such concerns are misplaced, stating that China's cooperation with Namibia is based on mutual respect and equality.

Namibia and Botswana are set to review progress across multiple areas of cooperation, including diplomatic, legal, economic, social, and defence and security matters.
