The Namibia University of Science and Technology, in collaboration with VEYA, launched the Systems Applications and Products in Data Processing training and certification programmes to meet the needs of the local industry and students.

This initiative will provide students and professionals access to world-class SAP software education and globally recognised programmes, making them more competitive and boosting local productivity.

The Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor Erling Kavita says the partnership with VEYA strengthens and positions Namibia as a regional hub for SAP education.

"Namibia is still committed to the Vision 2030 agenda through the NDP, NUST is playing its part, and this partnership is a big moment for Namibia, and the partners from all over the world are here to witness this monumental milestone event that we are witnessing today."

The Deputy Executive of Finance and Administration in the Ministry of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sport, Arts and Culture, Knox Imbuwa, notes that for Namibia to not only adapt and thrive in the rapidly evolving digital landscape, it has to invest deliberately and strategically in the people.

Imbuwa also noted that this collaboration directly supports the government's commitment to fostering ICT literacy and ICT promotion.

"By investing in initiatives  like the SAP education programme, we are not only preparing our workforce for the future; we are actively shaping  that future. We are ensuring  that every Namibian has the opportunity to participate meaningfully in the growth of our economy, regardless of background or circumstance."

SAP's Territory Manager Primrose Kufakwame says Namibia can not only participate in the digital global economy but also contribute meaningfully to it."

"The question before us today is very simple, will Namibia need or be left behind?, with subeducation the answer is clear, Namibia will lead."

The Managing Director of VEYA, Winnith Schrywer, also notes that technology should be a bridge that connects aspirations to opportunities.

"This partnership with SAP and NUST embodies the vision; through this collaboration, we are bringing the power of SAP's global education ecosystem directly to Namibia. Creating a pathway for students, educators and professionals to gain hands-on skills with tools that drive businesses and government worldwide."
