Residents in the Karasburg East Constituency say they are ready to vote in the upcoming Regional Councils and Local Authorities elections, despite concerns about inadequate water and sanitation services.

Residents of Grunau Settlement and Farm Klein Karas expressed their commitment to exercising their democratic rights to influence development and improve service delivery in their communities.

Sara Mungunda of Klein Karas said, "I am asking myself whether voting makes a difference, but in the end, one must participate. We're in Namibia, and voting is our responsibility. We are eagerly waiting to cast our votes. I hope any incoming councillor will address the needs of Klein Karas's long-neglected community."

Suzan Rooi, also from Klein Karas, added, "I hope the incoming councillor will prioritise our needs. He can be assured of our full support."

Karl Mateus from Grunau said, "Voting is my right, and it is essential for me to cast my vote to make a difference. I say this even though little has changed so far, but one must still vote. Even if change isn't immediate, we need to vote to ensure a better future for the next generation."

Elizabeth Swartbooi, another Grunau resident, said, "I want to have a say in shaping the development of our community, so I am going to vote."

Residents further urged incoming councillors to engage communities in identifying and addressing local needs and not to disappear after elections, as has happened in the past.
