The National Democratic Party (NDP) has urged eligible voters to vote out corrupt leaders and ensure that the party wins in all eight constituencies of the Zambezi Region.
At its star rally in Katima Mulilo, the NDP announced all party candidates across the country.
Vincent Simalumba, the candidate for the Bukalo Village Council, advised supporters to prioritise the village residents.
"We want to industrialise Bukalo; we want to root out corruption in Bukalo. We still want to make sure that all residents of Bukalo benefit from the natural resources of Namibia."
Kabbe North Constituency candidate Mwilima Mwilima opted not to make promises, saying he would rather have consultative meetings after his victory.
"Let us go back to our people after winning; then we sit with them, the chiefs, the indunas, the people, and everybody, the committees in the constituency, and all the villages. We have to sit down and write down what they need and what I need as a councillor, and then together we take it to our government."
NDP President Martin Lukato said his councillors will sign performance agreements to ensure accountability.
"That performance agreement, which is the document they are going to sign, if they don't perform within the period stated, or if they involve themselves in corruption tendencies, I, myself, will direct the shadow minister of the line ministry to make sure that they should be dissolved."
NDP, Lukato said, won't mind entering into governing coalitions with any other party.
Among the NDP's priorities are the increase of grants for different social groups and the provision of free water and electricity for senior citizens.
