Cholera has resurfaced in Zambia, with at least four new cases recorded in the past week.

The Zambia National Public Health Institute managed to contain the first three cases within two days and is now attending to only one patient.

Zambia just made progress in containing the August cholera outbreak, and now new cases have resurfaced.

Though all patients have been discharged from hospital, a new case was recorded yesterday.

The cumulative cases now stand at 613 since the disease broke out on 5th August.

The death toll remains at nine, while recoveries are at 603.

Vaccinations and other preventive measures have been intensified in all disease-prone areas.

There are no immediate threats from the waterborne disease, as all provinces and towns bordering Namibia remain unaffected.
