The Namibian government has reassured residents and visitors that the country remains safe and secure following recent travel advisories issued by Canada and Germany.
In a joint media statement signed by the Executive Directors of the Environment, Forestry, and Tourism and Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety, and Security ministries, the government states that while all countries face some security risks, Namibia remains peaceful and politically stable, with strong governance and respect for the rule of law.
The release further highlights the role of law enforcement and the Tourist Protection Unit in safeguarding visitors, especially in the tourism industry.
Namibia remains open, welcoming, and committed to ensuring the safety of all visitors, it says.
