The Ministry of Education has reported improved performance in the 2025 Namibia Senior Secondary Certificate Ordinary (NSSCO) Level examinations.

A total of 38,692 full-time candidates registered for the NSSCO exams, fewer than last year, while part-time enrolment increased to 42,819, highlighting the growing demand for second-chance education.

Nationally, 36% of full-time candidates qualified for progression to the Namibia Senior Secondary Certificate Advanced Subsidiary level (NSSCAS), with Kavango East leading at 52.7%.

The Ministry says the boy child performed strongly in the 2025 results, showing a notable improvement.

Surprising results were also recorded, with A. Shipena Secondary School ranked among the top ten schools nationally at the Advanced Subsidiary level, while a learner from Jan Möhr Secondary School, Sylvia Haufiku, placed in the top 20 nationally at the Ordinary Level.

Overall academic performance also improved, with 40.3% of candidates meeting the revised benchmark of at least 25 points in five subjects.
