The |Khomas Regional Council has officially opened its 2026 session, with Chairperson Stefanus Ndengu pledging to improve service delivery in education, health, water, and security under the motto, "We're not satisfied until you are."

Speaking in his first opening address as chairperson, Ndengu highlighted the council's Strategic Plan for 2025/2026 to 2029/2030, which sets priorities for inclusive development over the next 5 years. 
Key focus areas include water provision, sanitation, education support, health infrastructure, safety and security, youth empowerment, sports development, and social welfare initiatives.

" On the basis of our Strategic Plan, the Council prioritised development programmes that address the critical needs of our people. These priorities include water provision, sanitation, education support, health infrastructure, safety and security, youth empowerment, sports development, and social welfare initiatives, among others, mentioned Ndengu. 

|Khomas Governor Sam Nujoma also addressed the council, urging councilors to focus on implementation.

"This plan captures your desired strategic outcomes and provides a roadmap for your journey. It is a testament to our determination to institutionalise progress and development. Therefore, embrace this plan as a living guide that informs your daily actions from Council meetings to our interactions with our constituents. Honorable councilors, the year 2026 beckons us to rise above division, to strengthen partnerships, to prioritize service delivery, and to transform lives. The people of Khomas look to us not for promises but for action."

The council's Strategic Plan is designed as a living guide to inform daily actions, from council meetings to engagement with constituents, ensuring that policies lead to real improvements for the people of |Khomas.
