The Namibia Football Association has appointed experienced international coach Marcos Antunes as Head Coach of the men's national futsal team, the Brave 5, as the country steps up preparations for the CAF Futsal Africa Cup of Nations 2026 qualifiers.
Antunes brings strong international experience, having participated in two FIFA Futsal World Cups - Lithuania 2021 and Uzbekistan 2024.
The 49-year-old recently guided Angola to a silver medal at the 2024 CAF Futsal Africa Cup of Nations, strengthening his standing as a respected futsal coach on the continent.
He is a UEFA-licensed coach with a postgraduate qualification in futsal. He is recognised for his structured tactical approach, discipline, focus on player development, and ability to build competitive teams.
The appointment reflects the Namibia Football Association's commitment to strengthening the national futsal programme, developing local talent, and improving the Brave 5's competitiveness ahead of the CAF Futsal AFCON 2026 campaign.
