NamPol warn child pornography perpetrators

The Namibian police have sternly warned those who are engaging in child pornography on the dark web, saying law enforcement remains committed to protecting children.

The Head of Namibia's Criminal Investigation Directorate, Commissioner Lilungwe Mayumbelo, spoke to nbc News Reporter Gordon Joseph.

Commissioner Mayumbelo says the advent of technology has led to a market for online sex exploitation of minor children and that Namibia is not immune to these concerns.

Government communication officers move to full implementation as gatekeepers

Following the recent signing of the Access to Information Act by President Hage Geingob, government communication officers are convening a week-long meeting towards moving to full implementation, as gatekeepers of their respective ministries and institutions.

The workshop was officially opened by Information and Communication Technology Minister, Peya Mushelenga.

Dr Mushelenga noted that the Access to Information Act is an achievement signifying Government's commitment to democracy and transparency in management and information dissemination.
