Minister of Industries, Mines and Energy Modestus Amutse has called on state-owned enterprises (SOEs) within the ministry to focus on the delivery of accountable and impactful services.
He made this call during a staff meeting, urging them to work together to carry out the ministry's mandate.
Amutse said public service is about accountability and making a tangible difference through effective service delivery.
He said the ministry's strategic plan aims to achieve a noticeable and sustainable impact on communities and instill trust, adding that the true success of the ministry will be seen when the lives of ordinary Namibians are positively transformed.
He urged the employees to strive towards the digitalisation of most of their services.
He indicated that achieving the ministry's goals is not always about the availability of money but about commitment, innovation, and using available resources effectively.

"Our collective efforts must therefore be aligned, coordinated and firmly rooted in accountability, efficiency and service to the Namidian people now this engagement therefore marks the beginning of what I have invested to be a constructive and professional working relationship with all implementing state owned enterprises under the ministry's portfolio and I place a high premium on collaboration as well as on accountability and I want to repeat accountability and accountability and accountability to be accountable to the Namidian people obviously you will not be accountable you are not accountable to the business you are accountable to humanity, the mandate of your institution and obviously the mandate of your institutions are to deliver services to the Namidian peopleand that is the deliverance and deliverance and deliverance that I want to see I want us to be able to measure the impact."
Amutse called on employees to stop blame-shifting and instead work as a team to grow the mining and energy sector for the benefit of all Namibians.
