The Prime Minister emphasised the need to create synergy among the spokespersons for government offices, ministries and agencies and discourage these officials from working in silos.
The goal, he says, is to disseminate information and communicate government programmes and projects effectively despite potential challenges.

Dr. Elijah Ngurare addressed an engagement between professionals in the Information and Communication Technology sector.

In a meeting attended by the ICT minister, PROs of government offices, ministries and agencies – including regional councils and local authorities, public enterprises and filmmakers – Dr Ngurare outlined the government's development plans and the need for effective communication with the public.

"There must then be synergy in terms of what we are saying in NDP6 and seven priority areas as well as enablers. Then we said, 'All of us as ministers must know what is happening; we should know what is in our strategic plans and, by extension, know what is in our procurement plans.' In order to communicate, you must know what you are communicating; if you know, you will not miscommunicate."

The Prime Minister also highlighted the urgent need for resource support to the creative industry, which he said is highlighted among the Eighth Administration's Seven Priority Areas.

"If you look at what is being projected on NBC, it's local wat lekker. You are doing good, but in the presence of locally produced films, there is no longer a reason we should watch other content; we must now watch our own. Let us flood our screens with our own. I know they used to say local is expensive; let it be expensive, but it's benefiting our people."

Dr Ngurare further highlighted the soon-to-be-implemented payment gateway that would allow for local monetisation on social media platforms.
