Omusati Governor Immanuel Shikongo has commended the Etunda village community for its commitment to improving infrastructure at Mupolo Primary School.

Parents partnered with the school to erect classrooms, dormitories, and halls.

The school has over 300 learners, from pre-grade to Grade 7. It has only two blocks of conventional classrooms, leading to overcrowding and a lack of ablution facilities.

Governor Shikongo visited the school and praised community efforts. "I should also appreciate the community efforts. Community members bought all those corrugated iron sheets you're seeing—the ones used for the hostel for learners from far away, including other regions. I was informed there are not only children from the Omusati Region but also from elsewhere."

Mupolo Primary School Principal Nikanor Joseph highlighted other challenges needing ministry and stakeholder intervention: "We have a challenge with classrooms; Grades 4 to 7 are in shacks. We're seeking government assistance for classrooms. We also lack a school office; the principal and secretary share a storeroom, as does the HOD. We really need an administration block, even a small one."

Omusati Education Director Paulus Kashiimbi said the directorate is aware of the situation: "We have already sent out bids for constructing three classrooms at the school. Mupolo has been identified to receive them, along with Shikongo Iipinge, Negumbo Secondary School (three classrooms), and Omindaba (two classrooms). Our current focus is on classroom construction due to immediate need. Ablution facilities will follow in the next phase."
