Namibia and Russia will address a broad range of issues aimed at promoting economic growth and sustainable development, as well as strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
This was highlighted by the Executive Director in the Ministry of International Relations and Trade, Ndiitah Nghipondoka-Robiati, during the opening of the Senior Officials Meeting of the 11th Session of the Namibia-Russia Intergovernmental Commission (IGC).
The Namibia-Russia IGC was established in 2005 to strengthen strategic cooperation between the two countries.
Since its creation, the Commission has served as an important platform for advancing bilateral engagement across a range of sectors.

During the previous session, Namibia and Russia agreed to enhance cooperation in several areas.
These are trade and investment, geology, agriculture, fisheries, mining, energy, health, transport and aviation, and cultural exchanges.
Nghipondoka-Robiati emphasised the importance of keeping discussions focused on practical and measurable outcomes that will benefit the people of both countries.
"This session, with representation from various ministries, agencies, and offices, provides us with an excellent platform to take stock of our cooperation thus far and to chart new pathways for tangible outcomes. Much remains to be done, and the responsibility rests upon us to ensure that our deliberations are purposeful and impactful."
Russia's Director of Bilateral Cooperation in the Ministry of Economic Development, Pavel Kalmychek, said, "Our goal today is to finalise the draft agreed minutes of the Eleventh Meeting of the Intergovernmental Russian-American Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation. And as you know, almost two years have passed since the previous meeting, and a significant number of issues have accumulated on our bilateral agenda. I believe that our discussion today will allow us to work out solutions to them and strengthen economic cooperation between our countries."
Namibia and Russia maintain long-standing diplomatic relations rooted in historical solidarity and cooperation, with both countries continuing to explore opportunities to deepen partnerships in strategic sectors.
