The Swapo Party Women's Council, in partnership with various stakeholders, has launched a tailoring training programme aimed at empowering communities in the |Khomas Region.
The programme seeks to equip beneficiaries with skills development.
The project is expected to enable participants to create employment opportunities for others and themselves.
The initiative kicks off the first week of April, with 60 trainees who will benefit from the first intake for both women and men.
The Minister of Health and Social Services emphasised the importance of entrepreneurship in addressing unemployment.
Dr. Esperance Luvindao encouraged participants to pursue their passion, focus on their strengths and seek guidance from mentors who can support their growth.
The leadership of the Swapo Women's Council brought these machines for the continuation of the sewing and tailoring project.
The initiative is expected to not only provide skills but also inspire self-reliance among the participants.
The programme will in the future include other regions.
