Namibia is positioning itself as a key player in the global green energy transition, with growing investments in green hydrogen and biomass production. Projects such as the Daures Green Hydrogen Village are already laying the foundation for a new energy future.

At a conference hosted by the University of Namibia, industry leaders and researchers unpacked the technical potential, as well as the environmental, social, and economic implications of this emerging sector.

Projects such as the Daures Green Hydrogen Village are already testing the feasibility of producing green hydrogen and ammonia for both local use and international markets.

While challenges remain, from infrastructure development to market readiness, industry experts agree that the shift towards green hydrogen and biomass presents a unique opportunity to drive economic growth, create jobs, and reduce reliance on fossil fuels.

With continued investment, collaboration, and policy support, Namibia's green energy ambitions could soon translate into tangible benefits for both local communities and global energy markets.

For now, the message from industry leaders is clear: the future of energy is green, and Namibia is ready to be part of that future.
