Unemployed residents of Tsumkwe are poised to benefit from a CENORED debushing tender. This initiative covers a 56-kilometer stretch, extending from Rooidag Gate in Tsumkwe West to M'kata.
The funds, of over N$100,000, will be administered through the N≠a-jaqna Conservancy to benefit 24 unemployed local youth.
The one-month tender aims to clear encroacher bushes along electrical lines owned by CENORED.
Tsumkwe Constituency Councillor Petrus Mutji expressed that the project is a commendable initiative that will provide financial support to unemployed youth in the constituency.
The Chief of the !Kung Traditional Authority, Illony Arnold, expressed her satisfaction and urged other institutions to involve local youth in tenders.
One of the participants, Erastus Kampanza, expressed his gratitude for the debushing tender; however, he raised concerns regarding the lack of tools necessary for the work.
