President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has unveiled a fresh wave of leadership appointments, a renewed push to transform governance and deliver tangible change for Namibians.
The president has, among others, announced the appointment of Charles Mubita as Minister in the Presidency.
The appointments, mostly drawn from the National Council, are aimed at ensuring inclusivity and improving service delivery amid national challenges.
The president highlighted the appointments' role in enhancing regional representation, institutional coordination and implementation of the Sixth National Development Plan.
Guinea's Constituency Councillor Moses ||Khumub has been appointed Deputy Minister in the Office of the Vice President while !Nami#Nus Constituency Hambeleleni Ndjaleka will serve as Deputy Minister in the Health Ministry.
Etayi constituency councillor Hans Haikali will serve as Deputy Minister in the Ministry of Works and Transport and Ndonga Linena constituency councillor Anselm Marungu as Deputy Minister in the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism.
Otjombinde Constituency Councillor Wenzel Kavaka has been appointed Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology, while Rehoboth Urban East Councillor Edward Wambo will serve in the Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security as Deputy Minister.
Daures Constituency Councillor Theresia Brandt is the new Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Justice and Labour Relations.
Hilma Nicanor has been appointed as Advisor to the Minister of Defence and Veterans Affairs, where she once served as Deputy Minster.
"Your appointment to these noble offices should be grounded in my leadership philosophy, pragmatism, integrity, accountability, meritocracy and inclusivity. These are non-negotiable leadership philosophies I value deeply in this administration. You must place the interests of the Namibian people above personal considerations at all times. You must act ethically, govern responsibly, and deliver services efficiently and without fail."
The president further reminded the appointees that acceptance of office signifies a binding commitment to serve the Namibian people faithfully and effectively.
"History will judge you not on the basis of the titles you hold but on the impact you made in the lives of the people you are called to serve."
Nandi-Ndaitwah expressed confidence in the new leadership's ability to contribute meaningfully to national development.
