The Governor of the Ohangwena Region, Kadiva Hamutumwa, has emphasised the importance of workers' welfare and strong labour relations on the Ondobe-Eenhana Road Rehabilitation Project.
Hamutumwa visited the Unik Construction Engineering site at Ondobe.
Governor Hamutumwa convened a strategic meeting with representatives of UNIK Construction Engineering, officials from the Ministry of Labour, and the Office of the Ondobe Constituency to discuss concerns affecting workers on the road construction project.
Discussions focused on employment contracts, working conditions, and the overall welfare of employees at the construction site.
At the meeting, the governor reviewed workers' contracts and stressed the need for full compliance with labour laws while safeguarding workers' rights.
UNIK Construction Engineering reaffirmed its commitment to improving working conditions and maintaining constructive relations with employees.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment from all parties to strengthen cooperation, maintain open communication, and uphold fair labour practices while ensuring the successful completion of the two-year project.
