The Hardap Green Scheme under the Ministry of Agriculture has produced 1,040 tonnes of maize, generating N$1.5 million.
Governor Riaan McNab also pointed out other achievements during the past year.
Lucerne production totalled 1300 bales sold at N$80 per bale, generating N$104 000.00 monthly. In addition, institutional agricultural production systems contributed significantly to local economic activity. The Namibian Correctional Service (NCS) piggery operation, with a capacity of 1,300 pigs, produced approximately 1,280 piglets and processed about 1,440 pigs annually for consumption and sale."
The Hardap Regional Council also implemented several key development projects aimed at improving basic services and infrastructure across settlements.
McNab urged the political leadership to promote unity, ensure transparency, and foster innovation if Hardap were to rise as a region of opportunity and resilience.
