Prime Minister Dr. Elijah Ngurare is set to meet informal traders operating under the popular "order with me" business model in the |Khomas Region on Saturday.

In a social media announcement, Ngurare invited "order with me" traders to a meeting scheduled for 09:00 at the NUST Auditorium in Windhoek.

The "order with me" informal trading sector continues to face challenges, including taxation, customs regulations and the absence of a legal framework governing the industry.

The business model is particularly popular among women and young entrepreneurs who import clothing, cosmetics, household goods and other products, mainly from South Africa, China and other international markets.

However, many traders have complained that changing customs procedures and tax requirements have increased the cost of doing business.

Traders have previously expressed frustration over import duties, valuation methods used to determine taxes on imported goods, and delays at border posts and customs clearance points.
