The Namibian Women's Fistball national team continued its build-up to the European Championship in Switzerland this July by participating in the second league round of the 2026 season at the Cohen Faustball Club grounds in Olympia, Windhoek.
The competition brought together teams from Windhoek, Swakopmund and other clubs, providing players with match practice ahead of international competitions.
The Cohen Faustball Club grounds hosted the second league round of the 2026 Fistball season, with players from across Namibia taking part.
Teams competed in several categories, including Under-12, Under-15, Under-18, A League and B League divisions, creating a day of competition and development for the sport.
The event also served as preparation for Namibia's national teams as they build up for upcoming international tournaments.
For the Namibian Women's National Team, the focus remains on the European Championship in Switzerland scheduled for July.
The players used the league matches to assess progress, strengthen combinations and identify areas that still require improvement before travelling to Europe.
The women's team captain said competitions such as these play a role in the team's preparation, as they provide game time and allow players to test themselves under competitive conditions ahead of the championship.
Namibia Men's National Team player Karl-Heinz Traut reflected on the day's action and the importance of regular competition as the men's side continues preparations for the 2027 Men's Fistball World Championship in Brazil.
