The Keetmanshoop Town Council has suspended acting CEO Deseree Boois, who holds the Financial Strategic Executive position, with full salary pending an investigation into alleged financial irregularities.

Council resolved Boois’s suspension at a meeting on Tuesday.

This followed, and came shortly after, a municipal workers’ protest on Monday, calling for her removal.

Workers accused Boois of unilaterally amending employment terms, misusing funds through external consultants, and poor financial management.

Acting CEO Adam Isaack confirmed Boois’s suspension.
