NamPower and the Roads Authority are among the public enterprises stepping up preparations for the 2026 Public Enterprise Games, using social league matches to fine-tune their readiness ahead of the competition in Rundu from 2 to 4 July.

The Public Enterprise Games, established in 2015, have become a regular fixture on Namibia's corporate sporting calendar.

The event brings together more than 4,500 employees from over 50 public enterprises under the Public Enterprises CEOs' Forum.

It features football, netball, volleyball and other sporting codes, including tug of war, while promoting wellness, teamwork, networking and workplace unity.

NamPower's Iszias Lot Ndapona, Senior Manager: Commercial and Planning at MSB and a member of the NamPower Sports Committee, spoke about preparations ahead of the games.

Last year's edition, held in Swakopmund, brought together teams from across the country and continued the event's focus on participation and collaboration.

Roads Authority football player and team representative Linekeela Haufiku also expressed confidence in his team's preparations.

With preparations continuing across participating public enterprises, attention now turns to the start of the 2026 Public Enterprise Games in Rundu from 2 to 4 July.
