With only about a month before general elections, Zambia's President Hakainde Hichilema on Sunday made a pledge of lowering the cost of living, among others.
Hundreds thronged the Heroes Stadium grounds in the capital, Lusaka, for the official launch of the United Party for National Development (UPND) campaign, which Hichilema leads.
All were clad in red regalia, the official colours of UPND.
About a dozen other political party leaders who are in an alliance with UPND were also in attendance.
President Hichilema, accompanied by Vice President Mutale Nalumango, graced the occasion, which featured a full lineup of entertainment.
In a rare display, Hichilema showcased his dancing skills, much to the delight of his supporters.
After the event, locals lined up on the roads to have a glimpse of him as he made his way out.
