The highly anticipated Barebones Championship is set to take place this month, on July 25, in Milnerton, Cape Town, South Africa, featuring the long-awaited return of African flyweight champion Damian Muller. After months away from competition recovering from an injury, the Namibian fighter is stepping back into the cage on Waterville Street to reassert his dominance and raise Namibia's profile on the African MMA stage.

Muller has utilized his recovery period to rebuild his strength, refine his technique, and sharpen his mental focus. Despite the recent setback, he remains one of Namibia's most respected mixed martial arts fighters, having built a formidable reputation through discipline, consistency, and international success.

His comeback has been carefully managed alongside his experienced coach, Carlos de Sousa, who has played a key role in preparing him physically and mentally for the demands of elite competition. Together, the pair have maintained a strong partnership built on trust, hard work, and a shared goal of returning to winning form.

As fight night approaches, Muller and De Sousa are turning their full focus to Cape Town, where the champion looks to make a powerful return and prove he is still at the absolute top of his division.
