The Oiyonganghata Kindergarten in Okathitu-Kakafimbi village, Outapi Constituency in the Omusati Region, received school fence materials worth N$40,000 from PPI Investment.
Outapi Constituency Councillor Selma Asino commended PPI Investment, saying the donation reflects a shared responsibility for educating Namibian children.
"Through this initiative, PPI has demonstrated that corporate social responsibility is not merely a concept but a genuine commitment to investing in the future of our nation. This gesture reminds us that the education of every Namibian child is a shared responsibility. Government alone cannot do everything. The private sector, traditional authorities, communities, parents, and development partners all have an important role to play in creating an environment where our children can learn, grow, and thrive."
PPI Investment's director Jacob Penda said the company has been supporting school development since 2021 as part of its social responsibility.
"As part of our social company responsibilities, one of our key responsibilities is to assist with the development of schools. We launched this initiative in 2021 and began by supporting schools in different regions such as Oshana, Ohangwena, and Khomas. Today we are in the Omusati Region. We always look at the specific needs of each school."
A teacher at the Oiyonganghata kindergarten, Elizabeth Shiweva, said the school had long needed a fence and thanked PPI Investment for donating the materials to build it.
"Our kindergarten has needed a fence for a long time, and I would like to express my gratitude to PPI Investment for donating the materials to build our school fence. It has been very difficult to manage the learners because of our school's proximity to the road and nearby water ponds. I have had to be responsible, following the children everywhere to ensure their safety."
Shiweva is also appealing for other companies to assist with the materials for erecting their water tank, which is currently placed on the ground.
