Namibia and Egypt have committed to deepening strategic partnerships in several sectors.

The two countries made the commitment during the 74th anniversary of the Egyptian Revolution held in Windhoek.

Namibia and Egypt share longstanding bilateral relations rooted in solidarity, shared values, and mutual support during Namibia's liberation struggle.

Since Namibia's independence, the partnership has continued to strengthen, with cooperation expanding in trade and investment as well as education, agriculture, health, and renewable energy.

"Namibia welcomes the renewed momentum in our bilateral engagements. I recall with appreciation the bilateral meeting in December 2025, which I have held with my colleague and brother, Dr Badr Abdelati, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt, on the margin of the Second Ministerial Conference of the Africa-Russia Partnership Forum. These engagements reaffirm our shared commitment to further strengthening our bilateral relations and cooperation," said Selma Ashipala-Musavyi, Minister of International Relations and Trade.

The two countries' relations are rooted in shared values and mutual support.

Egypt's ambassador to Namibia, Ramia Shawky, said, "We are actively working together to enhance our cooperation in trade and investment, opening up new avenues for businesses in both countries to thrive. Egypt also remains committed to sharing technical expertise through the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development in fields such as health care, agriculture, and education. We look forward also to convening the upcoming Joint Permanent Commission for Cooperation to further strengthen and expand these vital sectors.

Egypt's 74th July 23 Revolution stands as the country's most significant public holiday and represents the country's national declaration of sovereignty, modernisation, and anti-colonialism.
