Deep Yellow Namibia has donated boxing equipment valued at N$47,000 to the Albertus Tsamaseb Boxing Academy (ATBA) in Erongo and is sponsoring the 2026 DYN Sports Festival in Swakopmund. The initiative aims to improve training conditions, develop young athletes, and create opportunities for sportspeople to compete nationally and internationally.
The donation includes boxing gloves, boxing shoes, and other training gear to help athletes train safely and effectively. The academy, founded by national boxing coach Albertus Tsamaseb in 2001, has produced several national champions and international medallists. It continues to prepare athletes for competitions, including those set to represent Namibia at the upcoming Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, later this month.
Deep Yellow Namibia Chief Financial Officer Thomas Henderson stated that the future of the nation is shaped by the opportunities created for young people, noting that sport inspires, unites, and empowers communities. Henderson added that through this donation and their sponsorship of the DYN Sports Festival—which the company is supporting for the second consecutive year—they are investing in youth development, discipline, teamwork, and healthier lifestyles.
Academy Founder and Coach Albertus Tsamaseb welcomed the timely support as the team prepares for the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. Tsamaseb explained that the new gear will improve their daily training sessions and help their athletes compete at the highest level, while continuing the academy's mission of keeping young people away from negative influences through sport.
The Erongo Boxing Federation also praised the contribution, highlighting that quality equipment is essential for athletes' safety and performance. Erongo Boxing Federation Vice Chairperson Tangeni Amuthenu said the sponsorship will have a direct impact on young boxers by improving training conditions and creating opportunities for them to achieve their dreams, expressing appreciation for the company's investment in the future of the sport.
Meanwhile, Teenagers Football Club, organisers of the football competition at the festival, indicated that the partnership will provide a safe environment for young athletes, help develop their talent, and encourage them to steer clear of drug and alcohol abuse. Club Founder and Coach Elvin Majiedt added that the partnership gives young boys and girls another opportunity to showcase their talent, build discipline, and pursue their goals, creating pathways for the next generation of professional athletes.
Deep Yellow Namibia concluded by reaffirming its ongoing commitment to supporting community initiatives that promote healthy lifestyles, youth empowerment, and the long-term development of sport in Namibia.
