Employees of Super Spar Keetmanshoop will not receive their full salaries on their usual payday of 23 July due to a theft of N$510.000 from the supermarket earlier this month.

In a letter widely circulating on social media, employees were informed that their salaries would be paid in two instalments. The first payment amounting to 50% of their salaries will be made on 23 July 2026, with the remaining balance to be paid on or before 3 August 2026.

The manager of Super Spar Keetmanshoop, Petrus Strauss, confirmed the authenticity of the letter to the news team and explained that the theft had significant financial impact on the supermarket operations.

A 23-year-old man, Morris Kapepiso, was arrested by police in the ||Kharas Region last Tuesday in connection with the alleged theft of N$510.000 from SuperSpar Keetmanshoop.

Kapepiso was employed as the Petty Cash supervisor at Spar Keetmanshoop. It is reported that he allegedly failed to properly record transactions and maintain documentation for petty cash between 1 and 7 July 2026.

Kapepiso appeared in Keetmanshoop Magistrate Court last Thursday, where his case was postponed to August and bail was denied.

Police also seized four iPhone 12s, reportedly imported from China.
