The University of Namibia's (UNAM) Katima Mulilo Campus is hosting a wellness week focusing on mental health, leadership and overall wellbeing.
The week features a series of conversations and activities addressing men's and women's health and wellbeing.
The first event, a Men's Talk, under the theme "becoming him", focused on the boy child, with experts discussing issues including mental health, emotional wellbeing, managing pressure and the importance of seeking support.
Katima Mulilo Town Mayor Kabende Kabende encouraged young men to think carefully about the consequences of their decisions.
Namibian award-winning artist DJ Vuyo, in his motivational speech, urged young men to find healthy ways to deal with pressure and release emotions when facing challenges.
Motivational speaker Karlos Kaumunika challenged students to have realistic expectations about life and to prepare for different outcomes.
The wellness week aims to create a supportive environment where students can openly discuss challenges affecting their mental health and wellbeing, while encouraging them to build healthy support networks and make informed decisions about their future.
