The just-ended State of Justice Conference 2026 has sent a strong call for unity and practical action. 

The conference focused on strengthening justice in Namibia by building an efficient, accessible and trusted justice sector. 

Prime Minister Elijah Ngurare delivered the closing address, stressing the need for practical implementation of the conference recommendations, particularly around corruption and technology. 

He said 71% of Namibia's population are young people, a reality shared across SADC and the entire African continent. 

Cooperation in the legal and governance space, he said, must therefore reach young people at their level.

"There is no way that we can succeed if we are not united. Unity does not just mean talking of it but walking the talk."

Ngurare underlined the importance of supporting magistrates and young people in the legal fraternity, noting that young legal professionals experience daunting challenges.

"They too are human beings. They too can speak. They too can think. They too need support. They too can teach you something. That is why we say, 'Each one can teach one."
