UK Border Force officers brought migrants ashore in Dover today after they were intercepted while crossing the English Channel in a small dinghy.

The migrants are seen disembarking one by one and walking towards a customs tent, where some queue outside under the supervision of Border Patrol personnel.

The day before, a crowded dinghy carrying dozens of migrants was seen pulling away from the coast at Gravelines in northern France, apparently heading towards the UK.

Migrants intercepted or rescued at sea are usually taken to the Western Jet Foil facility in Dover, according to UK Home Office guidance.

The latest Home Office figures available before Tuesday's arrivals recorded 199 people reaching the UK in small boats on September 14 and 15. No arrivals were recorded between September 16 and 20.

Crossings appeared to resume on Monday after five consecutive days with no recorded small-boat arrivals in the UK.

On Monday, Kent Police said five people were detained after a small boat reached the coast without being intercepted at sea.
